Hackdays are exciting, exhausting, sometimes crazy events where everybody is welcome, and we mean *everybody*! What’s gonna happen? Who knows? ReCon’s Hackday, sponsored by GitHub, is Scotland’s first hackday focused on Research in the 21st century: Data, Analytics, & Impact.
With or without coding skills, from every background, academics, designers, coders and developers come together to form teams which have just shy of 8 hours to build something amazing from the ground up. The Hackday will take place at Codebase, the UK’s largest technology incubator, which houses over 60 technology companies. If you are interested in ReCon, please come along, be it alone, or as a team, simply join up, form new teams, present ideas, and enjoy a stimulating day at our first hackday!
Many online services (PLOS, Mendeley, GitHub, and some 500 more…) provide APIs thus making the opportunity to build new exciting tools and products helping you or the wider community. A day’s worth of hacking will be rewarded, first and foremost with stimulating discussions, inspired designing and coding/hacking, and finally with beer/wine and pizza (but of course) and short presentations of the ideas.
Special prizes will be awarded too.
We hope to see you on June 20th! Please contact us if you have any questions.
We are delighted to announce that the hackday will be sponsored by GitHub.
